Projects
Intelaigent
Development of an AI-driven search and knowledge platform that connects proprietary and open data sources for a specific industry, with support for both full-text search and chat against documentation. The solution comprises a modern web application and a .NET-based API that orchestrates multiple AI agents, plus a dedicated knowledge base service for hybrid search (vector + full-text) and RAG-based answer generation. Role – Solution Architect and Fullstack Developer: Paal designed and implemented the entire platform from architecture to production deployment, with a focus on AI-assisted development and reusable patterns for agent and RAG solutions. He developed a .NET-based API with FastEndpoints and AI agent orchestration (Microsoft.Agents.AI), with tools for hybrid search against a knowledge base built on PostgreSQL, pgvector and Azure Blob Storage. On the frontend, he built a modern React application (TanStack Start, Tailwind, Clerk) with chat and search experiences against the agents. He implemented multi-tenant knowledge bases, document extraction (PDF, Word, Markdown, text) and streaming chat with source citations via an Azure-based language model. He also set up CI/CD with GitHub Actions and container-based deployment on Azure Container Apps.
Suitability Assessment
Admincontrol delivers digital board portals and secure data rooms for corporate governance, due diligence and other business-critical processes. The project delivered a new module to the portal where the board can create and respond to template-based assessment forms and analyse results in dashboards and PDF reports. The module enables customers in the financial sector to offer a platform for competency assessments and risk analyses in line with the European Banking Authority (EBA) new requirements for 2026, with the ability to scale to other sectors such as ICT and health. The team worked autonomously with Kanban and followed the company's Domain Driven Design (DDD) principles. Role – Tech lead: Paal was Tech Lead in an autonomous Kanban team and was responsible for technical direction and architecture based on Domain Driven Design, including domain models, service boundaries and integrations. He led technical decisions for the backend on .NET/SQL Server and frontend on modern web technology, as well as the use of message queues, document handling and dashboards, and was a driver for quality, security and robustness through development principles, code reviews and good CI/CD practices towards Azure. Role – Fullstack Developer: Paal was heavily involved in both design and development of functionality in the module. On the backend, he developed APIs and business logic in .NET against SQL Server with a focus on clear domain models, testability and performance. On the frontend, he worked with TypeScript/Angular for template-based forms, visualisations and reports, in addition to real-time updates, logging, monitoring and automated tests and pipelines.
bufdir.no
Bufdir is developing a new website for Bufdir (bufdir.no) as well as solutions for digitally supported mediation and parental cooperation agreements in case of separation. The new development comprises a modern frontend built on Next.js, React.js and a backend built on .NET with EPiServer and Strapi as CMS. Role – Fullstack Developer: Paal was a key member of a Scrum team as a senior .NET/React developer. He also used technologies such as Entity Framework as an ORM framework and EpiServer (Optimizely) and Strapi as CMS. He was involved in rewriting the frontend solution to use Next.js. Paal was also the team's Security Champion.
Digitalt støttet mekling (DSM)
The solution enables parents who have gone through separation to digitally create a legally binding contract called a parental cooperation agreement. The solution was built with React/TypeScript on the frontend and .NET/C# on the backend. Content editing was developed against Strapi.
NB Site
New Building Site (NB-Site) replaces the desktop application Nauticus Site. Using microfrontends based on React delivered to DNV's Workbench. Paal was responsible for modernising the stack and introducing a microservices architecture by splitting up a previous monolith. Responsibility for implementing an API based on .Net 6 using Entity Framework and GraphQL.
ROS
ROS (Registrering - Oppfølging - Service) is a digital support tool for the recruitment of foster homes. Paal was responsible for modernising the stack and introducing a microservices architecture. Paal was also responsible for setting up build and pipelines (CI/CD) using Azure DevOps.
